Compartment box Ivory, openwork silver plates Sri Lanka, 18th century 24 x 4.4 x 3 cm - Weight : 327g This oblong box is made of ivory covered with openwork silver plates engraved with plant motifs. On one side, a three-part removable lid reveals small circular compartments of increasing size. The silverwork and treatment of the floral motifs is typical of 18th-century Sri Lankan production.
