The jewel was a Maltese cross, enameled red with a white border on the obverse and blue on the reverse, with St. George slaying the dragon in the center, angled by a lozenge bearing the letters I.V.P.F. for IUSTUS VT PALMA FLOREBIT, and the Virgin Mary on the reverse, the corners adorned with the initials V.I.B.I. for VIRGINI IMMA-CULATAE BAVARIA IMMACULATA.
