Ogboni pendant Yoruba, Nigeria Bronze H. 23 cm The ring at the top of the head suggests that this object was worn as a pendant by a prominent Ogboni member. The richness of the incised motifs and the delicacy of the face testify to the refinement of this secret society. It was most probably made in the 17th century.
