JEU. - GUILLOT. La Selle à tous chevaux. S.l.n.d. [1826]. Cardboard box (size 13 x 17.8 x 2.8 cm), color engraving on lid, gilded and embossed frame; the box contains 3 small metal stands, 6 color lithographs on strong cardboard, and 13 paper character silhouettes. Horse-themed game. A board is placed on the metal support, allowing it to stand almost vertically, and the silhouettes of the various characters are then placed on top; a small notch on the back of the silhouettes allows them to be inserted into the slot provided on the boards, at the level of the horses' backs. M. Guillot, known up to now for all kinds of novelties relating to étrennes, has this year brought to light a new, highly-recreative game producing 108 changes; this game is entitled La Selle à tous chevaux (The Saddle for all horses) (Le Constitutionnel, December 28, 1826). According to this announcement, the game should include 18 silhouettes rather than 13. Missing 5 silhouettes, small loss on one of the boards at the split.
