Extraicte d'une Lettre de Maistre Thomas Mont-Sainct, M. Chirurgien de ladicte ville, escrite à un sien amy à Paris. Paris, Sylvestre Moreau, 1617. Plaquette in-8 of 8 pages, bradel half green cloth (19th century binding). Very rare edition of this canard (Frank Greiner, Canards (1611-1623), p. 1218; cat. Méon, no. 4049). Another Lyon edition appeared the same year. Handwritten note on one endpaper, relating to this extraordinary episode of blood rain that struck the author's imagination. Bookplate J.-A.-H. Dupré.
