First edition, with 16 plates, most of them folding (pl. 9 and 10 on the same sheet). This first work published by Alexandre Brongniart (1770-1847), Haüy's successor as chair of mineralogy at the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle in 1822, served as the basis for the instruction of several generations of mineralogists. From the library of Count Julien Victor de Martrin-Donos (1801-1870), author of a reference work on Tarn botany (Florule du Tarn), with his handwritten bookplate on the titles. A few leaves foxed, otherwise a pleasant copy.
