FOU LITTÉRAIRE. - CHOUET (Jean-Claude-Louis)]. Fortune de la - Lot 274
FOU LITTÉRAIRE. - CHOUET (Jean-Claude-Louis)]. Fortune de la France pour tous, ses richesses, avec l'exécution de grands travaux nationaux. By Honoré. Paris, A. Genet, 1886 [1889]. In-8, hardback, red edges (Publisher's binding).
One of the most delirious works by this author, born in 1837 (cf. Blavier, pp. 646-649): in particular, he develops here his marvelous invention of a "long-span siphon" designed to draw water from ponds and seas, transforming Paris and Lyon into seaports, draining the Rhone delta and so on.
Photograph (by the author, no doubt!) pasted opposite the title.
Minor rubbing to boards.
